A few months back I did an interview with an incredible organization called RETHINK Breast Cancer, and it just posted last week, so I thought I would share it here.
Rethink Breast Cancer’s mission is to empower young people worldwide who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer through innovative education, support and advocacy.
Rethink is the first ever Canadian charity to bring bold, relevant awareness to the 40s and under crowd; foster a new generation of young and influential breast cancer supporters; infuse sass and style into the cause; and, most importantly, respond to the unique needs of young women going through it.
By taking a breakthrough approach to all aspects of breast cancer – education, resources, advocacy, community engagement, and fundraising – Rethink is thinking differently about breast cancer.
This organization has provided me with a community of incredible women who know exactly what I'm going through. A community of women who want to share their stories and bring awareness ... and that's contagious!
And if that alone wasn't enough, Rethink also directs a lot of their attention to raising funds and awareness for Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) research - an area of "breast cancer" that is grossly underfunded.
They created the MBC ALLY MOVEMENT, with the goal of doubling the overall survival of MBC by 2025.
And this movement obviously holds a place very near and dear to my heart, as I have stage IV metastatic breast cancer.
