I cannot tell you how many times having one of these fans in my purse has saved me (and probably those around me as well) during a hot flash. I literally do not leave home without this in my purse!

I actually have two of them. The first one I've linked here is super-mini with 3 speeds, and is the one that I have in my purse at all times. And the second one is only slightly larger, but it has a few extra bells & whistles; 5 speeds, the handheld portion is foldable, and it has backup power that allows you to charge your phone in an emergency. This one is great if you're travelling.

One of the strangest, but probably most useful tips I was given when I started chemo was to use a lint roller on my head, once my hair started to fall out. Especially in the evening right before bed so that I wouldn't have short, but surprisingly sharp, hairs all over my pillowcase. It worked so well that this will always be one of the first tips that I share with others starting chemo.

This wedge pillow set was a game changer while I was recovering from surgery. I had a fellow cancer friend lend me hers to use, and what a difference it made! I slept in my recliner for the first week because it was too uncomfortable to lay flat. And once she stopped by and set these up for me I was able to sleep in my bed again.
